Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry At Church of the Holy Comforter:

Providing One-to-One Christian Caregiving.

Is Life A Bit More Than You Can Handle Right Now? Everyone goes through difficult times. Having someone to care for, to listen to, and to share God’s love with you can help you get through the confusion, stress, or loneliness you may be experiencing. God does not want you to struggle alone.  Consider allowing a Stephen Minister to walk with you on your journey.

A Stephen Minister is:

  • A member of our parish who has received 50 hours of training in how to provide distinctly Christian care

  • A person ready to focus on your needs

  • Someone who will faithfully meet with you on a weekly basis for as long as your need is there

  • A trustworthy confidant who will keep everything you say confidential, as well as your identity

A Stephen Minister is not:

  • A counselor or therapist

  • A problem solver

  • A casual visitor

If you or someone you know would benefit from a Stephen Minister, please contact Jean Britt, Stephen Leader Team Coordinator (847) 835-5150.  Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry. The identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remains private.

"Love one another as I have loved you."
