Choir

At Holy Comforter, we strive for excellence in our music, which is an expression of our faith, and which binds us together as a community.

Each week from September to May, the Adult Choir leads the congregation in the singing of hymns in the liturgy. The choir’s anthems span the 16th to 21st centuries and help to illuminate the appropriate texts of our liturgies, inspiring our worshipers into a deeper knowledge and understanding of the texts in the lectionary. The Choir leads the annual Advent Lessons and Carols Service on the Second Sunday of Advent, and a Lenten Evensong on the Second Sunday in Lent. We welcome parishioners to participate in our choirs and instrumental ensembles.

The Adult Choir rehearses on Sunday mornings from 8:40 to 9:45 before the 10:00 liturgy. The Adult Choir is open to all interested parishioners high school age and older.

If you are interested in joining the Adult Choir, please contact our music director, Dr. Derek Nickels.
