Time For Women Event
Time for Women Marks One Year
The January 2009 women's retreat, "Time for Women," formed the genesis for a new group that provides fellowship for Holy Comforter women who find it inconvenient to attend weekday church gatherings. Adopting the name of the retreat, the group is coordinated by Shari Burton, Jody Lapp, and Melanie Steibler. After Ellen Abell moved to Rhode Island, Cindy MacFarland joined the coordination team with Paster Ann Dieterle as our clergy liaison. While Father Meyers still calls us "Ladies of the Evening," we do represent a wide cross section of the church from all three services with varying ages, interests and walks of life. Our only criteria is being a woman at Holy Comforter. However we do require RSVP's (to the church) since we either meet at a restaurant with reservations or in a home where food is purchased prior to the gathering and we share the cost. We meet the third Tuesday of each month except August and December and as a "no-guilt" group so you can come when your schedule allows. The January dinner was at Cindy MacFarland's home with Lynn Collins co-hosting with 20 women in attendance.
Our next event will be at Little Ricky's in Winnetka on Tuesday February 16, 2010.
