Burial of the Dead
The liturgy for the dead is an Easter celebration which finds all its meaning in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we, too, shall be raised, and in the promise of eternal life we find our hope and joy, even at the time of great sorrow. It is strongly recommended that a priest be contacted at the time of death even before any funeral director is notified. The Church has the necessary experience and expertise to help guide her members through this difficult and painful time.
The Clergy are available to meet with any parishioners who, while still in good health, would like to place on file a list of requests regarding their personal wishes for their funerals.
A Funeral Handbook is available in the parish office to assist you with preparation. It also includes recommended readings and hymn selections. The Clergy and Director of Music are available to assist you with your preparation.
