Stewardship & Pledging
We believe that life is a gift from God.
We can't choose it; it comes as gift. Christians believe therefore that all that we are and all that we have come from God. We are stewards of our lives and our resources. Our challenge is to use our lives and our resources to the greater glory of God. Jesus said, "I give you a new commandment to love one another as I have loved you." We are to love others as Jesus would.
The Gospel invites each Christian to live as a good steward of his or her life. We care for our bodies, our minds, and our spirits. We strive to help others live nobly so that they too may live well. We give of ourselves and our resources to help others.
During the fall every year, the Vestry conducts an Everymember Canvass. Each of our families is asked to consider all life's blessings and to make a financial commitment to the ministry of Holy Comforter. We need money to operate the myriad of ministries, educational programs, fellowship events, and outreach activities that make such a difference in who we are.
When you receive the Canvass materials please review them carefully and make a decision as a family how you want to participate. Your involvement is central to our common life. Thank you very much.
Our parish has families and individuals. Each is asked to consider what your resources are and to make an annual pledge to the life, work, and ministry of the Church of the Holy Comforter. Pledge cards are available in the parish office and are available on-line. If you wish to fulfill your pledge by gifting stock to the Church, please use this Donations of Securities form. If you have joined the parish after our annual canvass is concluded, we ask that you consider making some financial commitment to our life. God bless you in our decision. We are blessed by your presence.
