Wednesday Night Lenten Series

Posted: 2/19/2015

Quit often, the season of Lent is interpreted as time of adding something new or letting go of something old without truly reflecting on the reason and purpose for these changes. As a result, Lent and often Christianity itself can come across as depressing. On Wednesday evenings during Lent, beginning on February 25, Fr. Chris will lead the annual Reel Spirituality series, and discuss the need we all have to "let go" of such issues as arbitrary divisions that separate us from one another, the things that we fear and deny, and false understanding of Jesus the Christ. Some of the movies to be used to illustrate these dynamics are To Kill a Mockingbird, Babette's Feast, The Piano and other films. Each evening begins at 6:00 with a simply soup and salad dinner, with the program running from 6:30 to 7:30.

Please call Laurel (847-251-6120) to let us know you are planning to attend; and also please consider signing up either with her or on the sigh-up sheet in the hallway to help set up or clean up after the evenings.
