Adult Forum in February

by Fr. Chirs Hardman

In February we continue our Interfaith Journey with the presentation of one World Faith Tradition and two Christian groups that are unfamiliar to most of us, the Christian Science Church and the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saints. We will also take time on the 8th to discuss last month's presentation by Mrs. Mahin Khoury on Sufism.

On February 1st Shirley Poulson will talk to us about the Christian Science Church. Shirley has a Christian Science Healing Practice as well as a Masters in theology from Garrett-Evangelical Seminary. She lives in Evanston and is a friend of Wyn Gilbert.

On the 15th our guest speaker will be Rabbi Evan Moffic of Congregation Solel in Highland Park. Rabbi Moffic graduated from Stanford with honors and is the youngest Rabbi of a major congregation in the United States. He is the author of the forthcoming book: What Every Christian Ought to Know About Passover and What Every Christian Ought to Know About the Jewishness of Jesus.

On the 22nd Bishop Greg Merkley is sending us a couple of presenters on the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saints, the Mormons. This should be an exceptionally interesting and informative presentation.

February 1st: Shirley Poulson-Christian Science

February 8th: A review of Sufism and Christian Science

February 15th: Rabbi Moffic-Judaism

February 22nd: The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter- Day Saints

We will hold a review of Judaism and the Mormon tradition on March 1st. Please join us for some lively February forum presentations.
