Lucille Resale Shop

"On the Spot Pick-Up"

On Saturday, January 10, from 10 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Church of the Holy Comforter, along with our Kenilworth Avenue neighbors, Kenilworth Union Church, will participate in our first Lucille Resale Shop "On the Spot Pick-Up." A large truck and two moving/loading assistants will be on hand to make sure your goods are loaded with care and on their way to "greener pastures," being resold to raise money for Holy Family Ministries. Donors will receive receipts for tax purposes.

The Lucille Resale Shop recently open in October, and is named after Lucy Infelt, the spry 96 year-old mother of Susan Work, CEO of multi-denominational Holy Family Ministries. Lucille is located at 1101 E Rand Rd in Arlington Heights. The store features a broad range of merchandise and upscale items in its spacious, bright and well-curated space.

All profits from Lucille support Holy Family's school and youth programs serving children from low-income communities on Chicago's West Side. Founded in 1985, Holy Family School is a high-performing K-8 elementary school. Other programs include the Little Learners Academy preschool and the Adventures in Learning after school and summer programs. All programs take place in the Holy Family Ministries Center at 3415 W Arthington Street in Chicago.

Lucille is open seven days a week, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 6:00 p.m. Sunday.  Donations are gratefully and graciously accepted during store hours as well. The store phone number is 847.749.2928.

For further Lucille donation questions, please contact Gwen Kessler at the store at 847.749.2928. To inquire into volunteering at Lucille, please contact Margaret Flanagan at mflanagan@hfm.org.

And, of course, nothing that happens at Holy Comforter would be complete without doughnuts and coffee. There may even be special NYC-type Croughnuts/Doughsants, but you'll have to be there to see it! Please take advantage of this special opportunity to donate your unused items, have some fellowship time with our friends at KU, and raise money for a very good cause: the children served by Holy Family Ministries and Holy Family School! Hope to see you, and your treasures there on the 10th!
