Adult Forum in January

& Wednesday Adult Class

by Fr. Chris Hardman

Our exploration of World Faith Traditions continues, with a look at Sufism. It is a mystic tradition that comes out of Islam. Sufism corresponds to our own Christian mystic tradition represented by Saints such as Francis of Assisi, Bonaventure, Meister Eckhart, Julian of Norwich, and Hildegard of Bingen. The focus of all mystics is "Union with God." Thus, the love of God is at the core of their life. Mrs. Mahin Khoury of Highland Park represents the Sufi School called the Chicago-Milwaukee Center, and will be our guest speaker on January 18th. Please join us.

Our Wednesday Adult Class will resume on January 14, 2014. We will finish our work on the Enneagram and then move back to our study of John Philip Newell's book The Rebirthing of God. Our first stop will be chapter four, Reconnecting with the Journey, which seems quite appropriate in our season of Epiphany.

Please know that everyone is invited to join us. Participation in the fall session is helpful, but not necessary. Most of the material for January and beyond is new.
