Annual Parish Meeting

On Sunday morning, January 25th, we will celebrate our Annual Parish Meeting.

Many of us, through our work, volunteer commitments, or involvement in school activities, are called on to attend a seemingly endless series of meetings of one kind or another; and it is easy to imagine that this meeting is simply another such gathering. But the Annual Parish Meeting is always an important day in the life of any congregation. It provides us with the opportunity to reflect on the year past, and to ponder the year just beginning. It is in part, of course, a business meeting, during which we elect new members of the Vestry, approve the annual budget, and discuss other temporal issues and topics. But it is also an occasion during which we can ponder our spirit as God's people in this time and in this place, and reflect on our ministries of education, outreach, compassion, hospitality, and fellowship. How are we doing in responding to God's call? What new challenges and opportunities are on the horizon? At the Annual Parish Meeting, we pray, sing, laugh, discern, rejoice in new growth, debate where God is sending us, and, in general, ponder our common life as the people of God.

The Annual Meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Great Room following a slightly abbreviated 9:00 Eucharist. Please join your sisters and brothers in faith at this year's Annual Parish Meeting. I look forward to seeing you on the 26th!

There will be no 11:15 Eucharist on January 25.
