The Sweet Sounds of Summer

by Dr. Derek E. Nickels, Director of Music

This summer promises to be the usual time of relaxation and some sort of solitude from the hectic pace of our "normal" schedules. At least, that is what many people are led to believe. In reality, summer means quickly cleaning up from the previous year's activities and preparing for the next year's and hoping that all of these activities can be accomplished before one actually departs for the "planned" vacation.

I do have three recitals this summer that you are all invited to - if you happen to be traversing through Wisconsin and Indiana at the appropriate times. On Thursday, June 12th, I will be performing on the Fox Valley Lunchtime Organ Recital Series at First Presbyterian Church (200 Church Street) in Neenah, WI at 12:15 p.m. On Wednesday, June 18th, I will be at First Congregational Church (Washington and Sixth Streets) in Michigan City, IN at 12:15 p.m. Finally, on Wednesday, August 6th, I will performing on the Wednesday Concert Series at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (812 N. Jackson Street) in Milwaukee, WI at 12:15 p.m. All of the performances are free and open to the public.
