Planned Giving

All that we are, all that we have, comes from God. We are stewards of God's bounty. Caretakers. For a brief period we are given time, energy, and resources. What we do with these gifts ultimately defines the character of our life and the depth of our spiritual understanding. Planned giving is one expression of the wise use of the personal resources God has entrusted to us.
The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop

Church of the Holy Comforter exists because of the faithful generosity and thoughtfulness of the generations of people who have come before us. As a result of their dedication of time, ministry, talents, vision, and financial resources, this parish family has worshipped God and reached out to the world in the name of Jesus Christ for over 110 years. To put the matter simply, we stand on the shoulders of those who have come before us in this holy and beloved place.

In an effort to strengthen the current and future ministry of the parish, we are soon going to engage in a renewal of earlier efforts in the area of planned giving; to offer interested people increased opportunities to remember Holy Comforter in their estate plans, and, thus, strengthen our common life and the community of faith we will leave to those who will follow us.

In the coming months, our new Planned Giving Committee will provide materials and resources, as well as public presentations, about the ways in which all of us can help sustain and insure Holy Comforter both now and long into God's future. Please ponder now the legacy you would like to leave in this parish, or contact the Rector if you would like to speak to a member of the Committee now.
