Good News Partners Christmas Store "Wrap-Up"

Despite gray and rainy weather, nothing could dampen the spirits of almost thirty CHC parishioners as we boarded a big yellow school bus and headed south to the inaugural Good News Partners Christmas Store.

Charlotte Long led the child-wrangling room along with our church school students. We face painted, made ornaments and origami. We met new friends, like Ant (short for Anthony) who did an amazing grand entrance into the room on all fours and barking like a dog! We met Precious, who must have exhausted all paper products writing multiple journals. And finally, we met a little girl who told us to "Pop it, lock it, and put it in your pocket!" I will definitely work that one into my vernacular a.s.a.p.

The adults held down various jobs including registration, security and personal shopping and re-stocking the store with an endless supply of
wonderful gifts.

Early reports from Jan Hubbard at Good News Partners indicate that this new outreach model served more clients than previous attempts.

Thanks to all who braved the weather and a bumpy school bus ride to brighten the holidays of those less fortunate. It was a day to remember!
