Meet Bill Gordon

My name is Bill Gordon, and I have just been appointed the new children's choir director here at Church of the Holy Comforter! I am so excited to have received this position, and I can't wait to meet the families here at this amazing parish. I look forward to working with the young people here and helping them raise their voice up in song.

The staff and I are going to work out the logistics soon of when the choirs will be meeting. I know schedules get busy, but I'm confident that a young person's choral time with me will be filled with education, meaning, inspiration and enjoyment.

Twelve years ago, I thought that my life was going to take me in the direction of becoming a professional opera singer. I was starting to gain work as a singer, and it was something that I thought I wanted. Around the same time as achieving success as a singer, I was asked to start a children's choir at a small church in Chicago. This small choir of eight children soon blossomed, as did my passion and interest in working with young people again. The Interfaith Children's Choir of Irving Park was formed, and it led me to abandon my singing career to devote fully to the choral education of young people. I am beginning my eleventh year at The Joseph Sears School in Kenilworth, IL., and I'm elated to be working here in building a quality, respectable program that all will enjoy.

As stated above, the specifics of time/days is currently being worked out, but I'd be happy to answer any questions that you might have!

Musically yours,

Bill Gordon
