Men's Fraternity

Holy Comforter launched the most incredible adventure for the men of the parish on Friday, September 18, 2009.  Sessions begin each Friday at 6:00 a.m.  See the Schedule of Sessions found on the column to the left.  [Year One is now concluded; Year Two will begin in September, 2010.]

The Quest for Authentic Manhood, a 24-week interactive study, examines the primary issues that shape a man's life, explores the true essence of manhood in a spiritual tradition, and provides practical building blocks for any man of any age pursuing a nobler, more productive and satisfying manhood. Over 20,000 chapters of the Men's Fraternity now exist around the world. The Holy Comforter chapter has been customized to address the culture, dynamics, and challenges facing men in this community and this parish, their workplaces and their families.

The program features weekly presentations by Father Myers drawing on his knowledge and expertise in theology, ministry, and psychology. We will examine the psychological makeup of men given our unique histories, pressures and roles. Together, we will search for ways to live in a competitive world while holding on to what is solid and sacred. Each meeting will also include breakout discussion groups - an opportunity for men to comfortably and honestly talk with each other about shared issues and ambitions. And, we will have some terrific fun along the way!

The program is held every Friday, gathering at 6:00 a.m. for coffee and donuts in the Great Hall, ending promptly at 7:30 am - at which time we turn you loose to conquer the world. The start date is September 18 and will continue through early spring, breaking briefly during the Christmas season. Participants are encouraged to attend weekly since the content of the program is accumulative, although drop-ins are most welcome.
